Pastoral Report for 2020\/2021<\/strong><\/h4>

\u300cbut the land which you cross over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of
heaven, a land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the
beginning of the year to the very end of the year.\u300d\uff08Deuteronomy 11:11-12\uff09<\/p>


After living and tossing under the claws of epidemic for two years, emotions such as anxiety and panic have indeed
consumed a lot of our energy. Entering the post epidemic period, how many are still able to face the future with
confidence or have hopes for their own prospects? The Israelites who have lived in the wilderness for more than 30
years have experienced many miracles, they have also received God\u2019s grace countless times. However, many of
them are still unfaithful to God and still have doubts about God\u2019s guidance, they have no real hope for their future.
Even so, the God who kept the covenant and full of love always \u2018couldn\u2019t bear to\u2019 completely abandon them in the
wilderness, He used His servant Moses to make promises and guarantees to the people to enter the land of Canaan.
Looking back on our past, we can see that there are still many rebellious traits like the Israelites in our lives.
However, God has always been patient with us and never gave up on us. Therefore, we should be rid of the
disgusting distrust of God, with obedience, we bravely face all kinds of challenges and accept the abundant
promises He prepared for us. Although we can foresee that the road ahead is not going to be smooth, there are also
still mountains and valleys to cross, we must have faith that under the guidance of God, these mountains and
valleys will become the gathering place of His grace that will be poured on us and the rich blessings that will
rejuvenate our lives!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Reflecting on Our Ministry<\/strong><\/h4>

Evangelism and Missions Ministry:<\/strong> Both English and Mandarin care groups continue to emphasize on equipping
the member to serve and building one another with God\u2019s words. Hopefully by the time when new venue is ready
we will have more members to serve in various ministries. 1. Mandarin Care group One: Although the caring
ministry for China scholars were impacted by the epidemic, we continued to hold the care group meetings and
allow the current members to grow in God\u2019s words and be equipped with theological knowledge. This will
hopefully help to serve as a foundation for a larger group in the future. 2. Mandarin Care group Two: We continued
to systematically study the Bible since last year and let God\u2019s words influence the lives of the members, so that we
will have strength to face various challenges in life. 3. Bible study group: Thanks be to the loyal servant of Christ,
Reverend Tay, that he tirelessly taught the words of God and build up the lives of the members.<\/p>

Worship and Music Ministry<\/strong> \u2013 Thank the Lord for His guidance, brother Eugene was brought to our church to
assist on conducting and training on choir ministry. From then we were able to continue to grow the music ministry
of our church and allowed the members to have better understanding on music and singing techniques. The purpose
of choir: 1. Help to guide the congregations into the worship service through the presentations. 2. Teaching via
choir: i.encourage and inspire the brothers and sisters in choir; ii.touch the hearts and instil faith in those who are
still searching and have yet come to believe in Christ, bring them to join the family of Christ soon. 3. Spreading the
truth and gospel through the work of choir.<\/p>

Children Ministry — “Train up a child in the way he should go. And when he is old he will not depart from<\/strong>
it.” Proverbs 22:6<\/strong>
Thanks to our Heavenly Father, despite the shadow of the epidemic, the children’s Sunday School ministry has not
been affected. In particular, the Father will remember and bless the several Sunday school teachers for their
constant commitment to the children’s faith and the nurturing of spiritual seedlings for the church. The Children’s
Sunday School continues to encourage new families with young children to come and join the Sunday School, and
parents are encouraged to bring their children along to adult worship. The resources we use are from Baptist Press
and include teachers’ guides, student training booklets, take-home training booklets, teaching picture books,
character plushies, online CD resources and posters. We use all of these resources to help teachers prepare well for
their lessons and to help children focus and participate. To help the children be active in church, we will have the
children sing or perform plays for special church festivals – Christmas, Easter, church anniversaries and other
celebrations. Please continue to pray for the Sunday School ministry and for those who will be burdened to join in
this important teaching.<\/p>

Church Administration and Office Ministry \u2013<\/strong> The new church venue at Yampi Way is currently waiting to be
renovated, therefore the facilities are not in place and is only used for preparing church bulletin and printings.<\/p>

Church-building\/Fundraising committee \u2013<\/strong> We have held a series of fundraising events this year. The income
from these events is considered satisfactory, and many of the events were run smoothly due to the help and
offerings of the talents and gifts from brothers and sisters at church. Therefore, what we get from having the sense
of belongings, offering of love from brothers and sisters towards the church and everyone working in unison in
Christ far outweigh the income in monetary term.<\/p>

Sale of Forrestdale Property \u2013<\/strong> Brothers and sisters have put in much efforts, both physically and monetary over
the years to maintain the property and kept it in good shape. Even up to the moment when the sale happened, we
were given the assistance from brother Han and Mr David Wu family on the last leg of repair work on the property.
Heavenly Father will certainly remember the effort from brothers and sisters.<\/p>

During the period October 2020 to 24 October 2021: 4 have transferred to the church, 3 had adult baptisms and 3
had infant baptisms.

Focal Ministries Ahead<\/strong><\/h4>

Direction of Ministries: Focusing on Internal Construction and External Expansion<\/p>

1. Place of Worship:<\/strong> Thank you Lord! The sale of the church property in Forrestdale went smoothly and the
application for the new Yampi Way property to be converted to a church was approved by the City Council.
However, due to various factors such as the impact of the epidemic, the high cost of transport and construction, and
the shortage of staff near Christmas, it is expected that the completion and use of the renovation work will not be
completed until around March next year (2022).<\/p>

2. Church Building Fundraising<\/strong> Committee: Our fundraising target: $2.5 million. Continuing with the
previously proposed fundraising directions: 1. sending out fundraising letters to overseas friends and ex-members;
2. trying to apply for bank loans with more favourable terms; 3. internal church fundraising activities, Garage Sale
and other charity sales through donations from members; 4. fundraising for outings and charity walks or ball games.<\/p>

3. Worship:<\/strong> Worship is always God-centred. If we can experience God in worship, we will learn to fear Him
through worship and move from self-centredness to God-centredness.<\/p>

I. The church choir will continue to recruit new people to join in the ministry as well as invite and train choir
directors.<\/p>

II. Next year, we will continue to hold sacred music worship Sundays, seminars and training in church music. We
hope to hold Good Friday and Easter music concerts in the new church hall for the following purposes: 1. to
commemorate the Lord; 2. to give thanks; 3. for evangelism (invite relatives and friends)<\/p>

4. Prayer:<\/strong> Prayer is the main driving force behind Church ministry. Good ministry cannot be produced without the
power and renewal that comes from God.<\/p>

I. Teach believers to focus on their prayer lives and train them to be bold in being vocal when praying around
others.<\/p>

II. Pre-worship prayer meetings have already begun in the English ministry, and the Chinese Ministry is
considering holding evening prayer meetings in the new church.<\/p>

III. We hope to form a prayer fellowship to promote the work of prayer throughout the church<\/p>

5. Teaching:<\/strong> For the ministry of the church to move forward successfully, we need more brethren willing to serve with their talents which are built up through teaching and training.<\/p>

I. Chinese theological education will be offered at the new church in March or April next year. It is hoped that
English speakers will also be available to run the English theology programme.<\/p>

II. Training worship leaders: how to prepare sermons and preaching training.<\/p>

6. Fellowship:<\/strong> Fellowship trains our interpersonal skills and is the best place for us to learn to serve one another
and the Lord. Additionally, it is also a way to witness God’s love, attracting and retaining non-believers so that they
can learn about God.<\/p>

I. Form a fellowship committee to help promote the activities of the church groups and to reinforce unity.<\/p>

II. To set up a senior fellowship to focus on the gospel ministry for the elderly. Try to explore and make good use
of, or even support, the government’s provision of work facilities or funds for the elderly.<\/p>

III. To organize a joint activity of the church groups once every three months, either indoors and outdoors.<\/p>

7. Evangelism:<\/strong> Evangelism is the Great Commission entrusted by God to every Christian. The growth of the
church depends on the effective implementation of evangelism or missionary work.<\/p>

Brethren in<\/p>

I. Spiritual adoption of families and friends by the brothers and sisters in the church, arranging visits and introducing
relatives and friends to the pastor and other church brethren.<\/p>

II.
